Hanna Schlegel Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science
About Me
I am currently a first-year graduate student at University of California, Berkeley studying computer science and working in the Sensorimotor Neural Engineering Lab with Dr. Preeya Khanna.
In addition to completing coursework and gaining technical skills with relevant projects, I spent my undergraduate years getting involved on campus and in the community. I was a member of the Division 1 Varsity Women’s Swimming Team, a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society, and the Vice President of the university chapter of Global Engineering Brigades focusing on working alongside local communities and engineers to implement clean water systems in the developing world.

My professional experience includes working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Morphable Biorobotics Lab developing sensors, actuators, and soft wearable/medical robotics using machine learning, participating in an engineering brigade to El Apintal, Honduras in May 2022 to design a new water pipe system, and working as a teaching assistant for a variety of courses: Computational Linear Algebra, Electric Circuits, Electric Circuits Lab, Instrumentation, and Introduction to Machine Learning.
